About the Role
The Dive Instructor is responsible for operating the PADI DSD Dive Experience on a day to day basis, delivering an exceptional guest experience and ensuring guest safety at all time. We are looking for Part-Time Dive Instructor 15hr/week, £9.41/hour) who can work mostly weekends and school holidays.
You must be a professional and safety conscious individual, who has the ability to work well within a high paced environment. You must ensure the customer is always at the forefront of your mind, be an enthusiastic team player and be able to work with other colleagues in a dynamic working environment.
The Dive Instructors core responsibility is the leading of the PADI Discover Scuba Dive experiences in a purpose-built aquarium. This will include briefing and overseeing guest dive experiences in the Bear Grylls Adventure Ocean Tank and having the right attitude and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. We constantly develop new ideas to engage with our guests and you are invited to support this with new, innovative ideas.
You will also ensure the appropriate storage and maintenance of our dive equipment in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, local guidelines, and company policies. Health and Safety is at the forefront of all activities in the dive area and you are able to communicate any concerns with the Displays & Dive Manager immediately.
About You
- You hold a minimum of PADI Assistant Instructor with proven dive experience
- You currently hold or are able to obtain a HSE Diving Medical
- A working knowledge of dive equipment to ensure correct maintenance is carried out in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, local regulations and company diving policy
- Gained significant experience as a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor in dive practice and theory including Emergency Action Plans and equipment maintenance
- A working knowledge of guiding divers, allowing for delivery of a ‘wow’ experience
- A good understanding of dive logging and problem resolution to ensure proper communication in line with company policy
- You have a passion for marine life and promotion of conservation
- You love to be part of the action and immerse yourself in the experience. You are passionate about the brand and love to work for The Bear Grylls Adventure
- Health and Safety is your number one priority
- A First Aid certificate is beneficial but can also be trained on site
- You have a passion for Teamwork, but can also work alone when required
- You will have a strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Due to the nature of this role the successful applicants must be aged 18 and over
- Due to the nature of The Bear Grylls Adventure you will be required to work weekends and bank holidays and therefore flexibility is a must.
