PADI OWSI Wanted to Lead Summer Dive Programs for Teens

Broadreach Adventures, LLC is hiring PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors & Trip Leaders to lead summer diving programs for teens.

Broadreach leads summer programs for Middle and High School students. Students are challenged to learn, build skills and become better global citizens through hands-on discovery and interaction with the world’s ecosystems and wildlife. We lead summer dive programs in Bonaire, Curaçao, Red Sea, Fiji, Mexico & Saint Martin. Program placement depends on skills and experience and will be determined throughout our interview process. 

Instructors mentor students and lead adventure based travel programs, while teaching core certifications and dive specialties. Instructors will assist in leading discussions about marine biology, cultural components and ecotoursim. Some programs include additional academic components where students earn college credits. Instructors supervise students 24/7, facilitate positive group dynamics, lead games and assist students with cooking and cleaning duties.

Instructors are expected to be flexible team players that foster a fun, safe environment for students to thrive and explore new places, cultures and activities.

Qualifications:

• PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification with active teaching status.
• Experience teaching diving to teens/young adults.
• Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification or higher preferred.
• Experience leading youth programs, required. Experience leading programs in a camp or international setting preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in marine biology preferred.
• Some programs require a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.

Instructors are required to attend training in June in North Carolina. Contract lengths vary based on program placement, instructors can expect to lead programs in June/July and the first week of August. Food, accommodation and flights are included as part of the contract.
